Excellent use of soundtrack.
Ack! Busy day! Sorry I’ve been slow. Anyways, this has to go to Halloween.
It’s a totally cliché answer—my second in as many days, actually!—but I don’t care. There is no other choice. John Carpenter’s theme for Halloween is horror. It’s one of the most memorable compositions in the history of cinema. There’s nothing I can say about Carpenter’s score that hasn’t been said ten times over by people ten times as capable as I am, so I won’t bore you with words. It speaks for itself.
Some other personal favorites: Jaws, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror (which actually uses music originally intended for, but rejected from, The Exorcist), and Creepshow. The Devil’s Rejects and the (original) Last House on the Left deserve some nods as well.
