An incredibly twisted movie.
Easy: À l’intérieur, also known as “Inside”.
It’s a movie about a girl trying to remove another girl’s unborn baby with a pair of scissors. With no explanation. On Christmas Eve.
I wouldn’t recommend it for the squeamish.
I wish the directors of this movie—Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Mary, respectively—could’ve been the ones to remake Halloween. À l’intérieur evokes both the unmitigated tension of Carpenter’s masterpiece and the gratuitous gore of today’s torture porn flicks. It feels simultaneously old and new.
À l’intérieur is what modern horror should be.
Anything that parallels and exceeds the grandeur of “The Human Centipede” is an A+ in my book.
